Reunion Theme: The very talented life of Lisbeth Glatfelter Fish,
eldest daughter of Dr. Noah M. Glatfelter
The 114th annual family reunion will chronicle the very talented life of Lisbeth Glatfelter Fish, eldest daughter of Dr. Noah M. Glatfelter. It will be held at Heimwald Park, Glatfelters, PA, (near Seven Valleys) on Saturday July 27. For those using GPS devices, the park address is 6581 Glatfelters Station Road, Seven Valleys PA 17360.
As always, parking will be available in the parking lot of the York County Heritage Rail-Trail and the meadow beyond. Shuttle vans will be available to transport you to the park.
Please note: Per the Charter of Incorporation granted by the Commonwealth in 1910, Heimwald Park is to be alcohol-free. Kindly respect our governing document by not bringing alcohol into the park.
As a prelude to reunion day, on Friday July 26, we will honor Dallas Smith’s 50 years of service as a Director – 40 of those as Treasurer – with a reception at Smith Village Home Furnishings (“Smith Village”) 34 N. Main St, Jacobus PA 17407, beginning at 7:00 PM. The $5.00 registration fee is for the light refreshments that will be served.
On Saturday July 27, the registration desk will open at 1:30 PM. The program, including the historical presentation and the business meeting, will begin promptly at 2:00 PM. We ask you to be in the park and seated by that hour.
This year’s program will chronicle the very talented life of Lisbeth Glatfelter Fish, eldest daughter of Dr. Noah M. Glatfelter. Dr. Noah’s 1901 book “The Descendants of Casper Glattfelder” was the catalyst for the first reunion.
The catered meal will begin at 4:00 PM. The charge is $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for children 3 - 12 years, the same as last year. The caterer will be serving picnic fare: Pulled pork or smoked chicken barbecue sandwiches with side dishes. Please note: you MAY attend the reunion program without ordering a catered meal. You may bring your own meal, however, registration is still required. Tickets for meals ordered will be in your registration packet. We will NOT have the dessert table this year – Carmen’s Ice Cream and soft pretzels will be included with the meal.
Around 5:00 PM, the Brodbecks Band will present a concert. The Reunion Hymn and the Memorial Service will be woven into the band concert to conclude our time together.
We will have for sale the items you have seen on the order form in the newsletter, including family sweatshirts, polo shirts, stationery, 100th Reunion books, and various DVDs. Save on shipping by buying at the reunion! Sorry, we are not able to process credit cards.
